  My Schoolbag

  Good morning, everyone, It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson withyou. Today, my topic is my schoolbag, My presentation mainly contains the following aspects:analysis of teaching material, analysis of student, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedure and blackboard design. Now Iam going to present them one by one.

  1.Analysis of teaching material

  Today's lesson is Unit 2 my schoolbag,Book 3,PEP. It mainly talks about the schoolbag,some different kind of books,such as storybook, notebook and math book, and some sentences, like what’s in it? The content is close to the students’dailylife and familiar to them, so they can findinterestsin learning it. Therefore, learning it well will do a great help not onlyto the following study of the unit, but also to the whole learning of English.

  According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, I think the teaching objects are the followings:

  ( 1 )Knowledge objects:

  Graspingthe new words: schoolbag, maths, storybook, notebook, toy,and sentence:what’s in it?

  ( 2 )Ability objects:

  Enhancings' listening and speaking skills, especially, s' ability of applying the sentences they have learned in this class.

  ( 3 )Emotion objects:

  Fosterings' teamwork spirit through pair-work and group activities; to arouse s' strong love of our school.

  Now, let’s come to theimportant points and the difficult points.

  ( 1 ) Teaching key points:

  The usage of new words:storybook, notebook, toy, and pay attention to the pronunciation.

  ( 2 )Teaching difficult points:

  Using the sentenceswhat’s in it? and what colour is it? In daily life.

  2.Analysis of students

  Most students in Grade 4are very active and good atin memorizing and imitating, but their ability in using the language remains to be improved. In order to overcome the difficulties , i will use some interesting ways to interest students’attention.

  3. Teaching methods

  n order tocreate an active, interesting and relaxed atmosphere, set a real situation,and according to the analysis of the teaching material and the students’ learning background, I willuse the Task-based teaching method and situational teachingmethod to develop the students’ good sense of English.

  4. Learning methods

  When it comes to the learning methods, it’s true that Ss are always poor in cooperative learning skills, so, in the class, pair workor group workwill be adopted.

  5. Teaching procedures

  Now, time for me to express my ideas of teaching procedure.This part is very important, in order to make it clear, Idivide my teaching procedureinto 5steps:

  Step 1.Leading-in

  In this step, I will do a free talk with my students, I will ask students: do you like our school? Then let them think when they go to school, what they must bring to our school.

  Purpose: free talk will let students feel the interesting and relaxed atmosphere, let them have a interest in new lesson.

  Step 2. Presentation

  In this step, I will present the new words and patterns in the lesson. Let studentsmaster the teaching important points.

  ( 1 ) Taking out one schoolbag, then ask students what’s this? And show the word “schoolbag”. Then ask students “what’s in your schoolbag”, and show the new words: notebook, math book, story book.

  ( 2 ) askingsome volunteers to read the words in different ways, such as: low-high voice, together or one by one.

  Step 3. Practice

  In this step, I designthreeactivities to help studentsgrasp what they have learned better:

  Activity one: Match game

  Showing some things about the words we have learned today, then let students say it’s English name loudly.

  Activity two:Pair work

  Let students read the dialogue in role play, then pick up some groups to come here to show the role-play.

  Activity three:Discussion

  Four students in a group, let them discuss what’s in our classroom. Then, pick up some groups to make a presentation in front of classroom.

  Step 4. Summary

  I will ask students what they have learned from this class, then let students summarize the language points they have learned in this lesson.

  Step 5. Homework

  Let students observe their homes or their bedrooms, then think about what’s in their homes or bedrooms, next class, show their ideas to the whole class..

  6.Blackboard design

  In order to make the lesson much clearer, the blackboard design are as follow:
