王节琴
Good morning/Good afternoon, dear judges. I’m the No.6 candidate applying for MiddleSchool English teacher. Today my topic is Unit 5 Good Manners. Now I’ll begin my class.
Warming up/Lead-in
Good morning, boys and girls, how is everything going with you today? That’s nice, I feel very good today. At the beginning of our class, I will play an interesting video clip foe you. Look at it carefully and then I have a few questions for you to answer. Now, let’s begin. Ok, stop here. Who can you see in the video clip? Good, they are the yellow dog and the blue dog. They are our old friends, right? Next question, in the video clip, what does the yellow dog do? Cathy? You are right. It robs the cake from the blue dog. Boys and girls, do you think the yellow dog does the right thing? Of course, it doesn’t. Because we should have good manners in our daily life and never rob things from others. Do you want to be a boy or a girl with good manners? Fantastic, today we will learn more good manners.
Presentation
Please look at the pictures on the book and discuss in groups of four. You will see there are 6 phrases and 6 pictures. Make a connection between them. And every group should decide whether it is right to do the things shown in the pictures. I will give you 5 minutes, go. Time is up. You have a hot discussion. Well done. Now, let’s look at the pictures together. For the first picture, what does the boy do? Nina? Yes, the boy stops when the light is red. So he obeys traffic rules. Then, Should we or not obey the traffic rules? Your answers are the same. We should obey traffic rules to keep safe. The answer is clear, the first picture, obey traffic rules. (Write the phrase and sentence pattern on the blackboard.) Then, we will come to the second picture. What does the girl do? The boy in red with hands up. You are correct. She picks flowers in the park. Sit down, please. Boys and girls, have you ever pick flowers in the park? Wow, you are good students. We shouldn’t pick flowers in the park. (Writeit on the blackboard) Don’t pick flowers in the park because it is not good manners. Ok, the third picture. You group, please tell me what does the students do in the third picture? Well done they are reading in the library. In the library, we should keep quiet. Pay attention to the pronunciation of quiet. It is quiet, but not quite.

Alice, according to the dialogue, what should we do in the library? Keep quiet. Of course, we should keep quiet in the library. What else? We shouldn’t eat in the library. Is she right? Yes. What’s more, we shouldn’t write in the book and we should put the books back after reading. You did a verygood job. Sit down, please. Next, you will work in pairs with your partner to role play the dialogue, ok? 5 minutes for you. Jeremy and Sally, please role-play the conversation. Very good, your pronunciation is fantastic.
